Il brano è stato scritto dalla band con Iann Dior e Dan Smith dei Bastille.
Prodotto da Grace e Jack dei Clean Bandit con il supporto di Mark Ralph (Years & Years, Sigala), ‘Higher’ ha il classico “marchio di fabbrica” dei Bandits.
Il messaggio del brano è rappresentato nel video, girato in Jamaica e diretto dalla stesa band e narra di un naufrago (impersonato da Dior) che dopo un incidente in barca approda su un’isola deserta dove sopravvive grazie al ricordo di suo padre, fino a quando non viene tratto in salvo da uno yacht con a bordo un equipaggio davvero speciale.
I Clean Bandit aggiungono quindi un nuovo tassello alla loro prolifica discografia sempre piena di hit.
L’ultima in ordine di tempo è stata ‘Tick Tock’ con la partecipazione di Mabel (vincitrice di un BRIT Award) e il feat. di 24kGoldn. La loro formula pop è sempre così vincente da avergli fatto guadagnare anche un GRAMMY, e solo con ‘Tick Tock’ hanno totalizzato più di 250 milioni di streams e 54 Milioni di views su YouTube.
Anche il loro mash-up pubblicato a fine anno, ‘Gypsy Women’ (feat. Yasmin Greene & Crystal Waters) è attualmente nella top 100 delle radio Italiane.
